MENDHAR, Feb 5: The police today arrested a former constable turned self styled Tantrik duping innocent public in Mendhar and Sakhi Maidan area.
Acting on the basis of public complaints, regarding sexual exploitation and duping people of their money for so called `Tantrik activities’, the police party led by SHO Mendhar Anzir Mir today arrested the accused from his rented room at Sakhi Maidan.
Identified as Mohd Jameel, son of Mohd Maqbool, resident of Behrote in Thannamandi ( Rajouri), he had declared himself as self styled `Pir Baba’ and many people were being lured by him.
The police registered a case and started investigation. The police said that he was dismissed from Police service a few years and devised a way to make easy money by duping innocent people.
He left his home without telling anybody few months back. The family had also lodged his missing report. But he was secretly in contact with his wife who was residing now with her parents in Manjakote area. The police seized 8 SIMs and three mobile phones from his possession.
