JAMMU, June 29: Estates Department Employees Union in the elections held here elected new office bearers of the Union.
In the election which was held democratically under the supervision of Dy Director Estates Jammu Satish Kumar Sharma in the office premises of Executive Engineer Estates Division near Shakuntla crossing. For the post of president Prem Singh Bhawa and Jeet Raj contested. Both secured equal number of votes-165 and the result was a tie. They are likely to share term for one year each or go for fresh poll for this post.
For the post of chairman Subhash Chander secured 162 votes and defeated Rachhpal Lal, whereas, Parshotam Lal was elected as vice president. He secured 166 votes and defeated Puran Chand. Satish Kumar Sharma was elected as general secretary. He defeated Mohinder Lal and secured 167 votes.
