Estates employees protest, demand re-organisation

JAMMU, June 9:  Employees from Estates Department held strong protest demonstration in the office of Dy Director Estates at Manda Hills in support of their long pending issues here today.
The employees under the leadership of Prem Singh Bawa and Yashpaul Sharma (coordinators) assembled in the office premises  at Manda and held strong protest. They were shouting slogans against the higher authorities and projecting their demands.
The main issues included reorganization of Estates department, regularization of daily rated workers, provision of two and half day’s additional  pay, release of wages of casual workers, issuance of in-situ promotion orders, holding of DPC, clear pending SRO-43 cases, extension of pension benefits for regularized adhoc employees and construction of own building of Estates department ( Dy Director office) in Jammu.
The speakers in the meeting warned to intensify their agitation if their demands are not met. They alleged that despite several representations and meetings with the director their demands have remained unresolved.
