JAMMU, May 30: A meeting of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee (DNWC) was held under the chairmanship of its president, Roshan Lal Raina. It, while expressing concern over the increasing deaths due to COVID Pandemic and demanded opening of vaccination centre in Ayurvedic Hospital at Rajinder Nagar and least 20 Oxygen cylinders be made available there besides testing for COVID be done at Durga Nagar community Hall.
It said the Durga Nagar which is populous area having huge population hence the two centers be established in the vicinity as the old and infirm people can not travel to vaccination or testing centers which are far away from the area.
It demanded that the Government should provide relief and other assistance to those families which lost their dear ones in the Pandemic and also take care of children orphaned due to Pandemic. The meeting expressed concern over erratic power and water supply in the area and said that despite repeated pleas to concerned authorities these problems were not settled and people are facing many hardships in this hot Summer.
The meeting among others was addressed by Ravinder Bakshi, Bhushan Lal Koul, C L Zutshi, Badri Nath, Bansi Lal, Nana Ji Bhan, G L Sahni, Arvind Bhat, Kaka Ji and Ashok Ji among others.
