ESL’s concern over delay in implementation of One Rank One Pension

JAMMU, June 25: The Executive Committee of J&K Ex-Services League (ESL) expressed concern over delay in the implementation of One Rank One Pension promised by Government of India.
In a meeting of the ESL, President Major General Goverdhan Singh Jamwal informed the members about the grand rally held at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi recently where over 50,000 ex-servicemen from all over India including Veterans of J&K participated.
He also informed that a continuous chain hunger strike is going on there till July 15, wherein ex-servicemen from different states including Jammu and Kashmir are participating.
“If Government failed to announce One Rank One Pension the next decision will be to hold a similar rally in Patna, in which many States including J&K are presently sitting on chain hunger strike”, Jamwal stated.
He further disclosed that during homage paying function of Brigadier Rajinder Singh, Chander Parkash, Minister for Industries and Commerce and MLA Vijaypur stressed on the development of Rajinderpura memorial and asked to prepare project worth Rs 15 crore for production of mementoes and souvenirs for sale among the tourists to make the memorial self supporting.
He asserted that project report has been prepared by J&K Ex-Services League and Brigadier Rajinder Singh Memorial Committee.
The meeting was attended by Brig SS Sambyal, Senior Vice President JKESL, Col KS Jamwal, Incharge WHO, COL Qureshi, Col Rajinder and Col D S Salaria.
