JAMMU, June 17: Erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir cadre IPS officer, Dr Sunil Gupta, has been appointed as Deputy Director/Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) on deputation basis.
As per an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the appointment of 2007 batch IPS officer, who had served in Jammu and Kashmir as incharge IGP Crime and DIG JSK Range besides other important positions, has been made against an existing vacancy in level 13-A of the pay matrix.
Dr Sunil Gupta has been relieved immediately and asked to take up new assignment in the BPR&D.
