Ensure repairs of transformers within shortest possible time: Viqar

SRINAGAR, Jan 30: Minister of State for CA&PD, Power and Information, Viqar Rasool has said that strict instructions have been passed down the line to ensure repairs of damaged transformers within the shortest possible time so that people do not face any inconvenience during the winter months.
The Minister was interacting with the officers during his extensive inspection of Electric Central Stores Workshop at Pampore. He was accompanied by senior officers of the PDD.
The Minister exhorted upon the officers to ensure that the damaged transformers are repaired besides maintaining an inventory of the available stock in the State. He said that adequate and uninterrupted supply of the electricity has to be ensured to facilitate the people especially in winter and in this connection a complete coordination should be maintained within the different wings of the Power Department.
The Minister also directed the officers to provide the information about the damaged transformers on a daily basis so that the requisite monitoring of the same can be ensured and repaired.
Taking cognizance of the absentism, the Minister directed the Chief Engineer to put the absent employees under suspension to ensure punctuality in the offices.
The Minister also visited the LPG bottling plant at Pampore to take stock of the available gas cylinders.
Mr. Viqar also visited the godowns of Food Corporation of India at Lethpora Pampore. He was informed that adequate stock of essential food grains is available in the Valley.
