Apropos to article ” An Institution of Forestry ” by Raja Muzaffar Bhat (DE 1.03.2020). As for as I know O P Sharma I say that he is not only an eminent Forester but a saintly person who has immense Knowledge about Forest Herbs (Jadi bootis). Last year in June I got a chance to be in his company at Yusmarg where he and his colleagues had organized a Forest Food festival. Sharma Sahib explained in detail the edible and medicinal value of various herbs found in Yusmarg especially those found in the Yusmarg Forest nursery. He knew all the names of these herbs be it Dogri name , Kashmiri name , English name or Botanical name. He is an encyclopedia of forest and a real Van Vidharthi of Jammu & Kashmir. As a theater artist my services are always available for Mr Sharma. Wish him a great post retirement life.
