JAMMU, Mar 15: Janta Dal (Secular) today demanded State as well centre Government to fully empower the armed forces to meet any eventuality.
Addressing the Party’s State Executive meeting here today, its State president, Mast Nath Yogi, expressed grave concern over the attack on CRPF jawans at Srinagar by Pakistani militants and asked the State and Central Governments to fully empower the armed forces to meet any eventuality.
He said that Home Minister should intervene into the matter and take some drastic measures so that such incidents are not repeated.
Some political leaders who are pleading for removal of AFSPA, should learn lesson from this attack, which claimed the lives of five CRPF jawans, Nath said, stressing for further strengthening AFSPA.
He advised the legislators to do some constructive work in the Assembly instead of wasting the time of House and money of public exchequer.
