SRINAGAR, May 28: The State Government employees, doctors and lawyers today threatened to launch agitation if the Government doesn’t revoke suspension order of the senior doctor of SMHS hospital, Dr Nissar-ul-Hassan.
Abdul Qayoom Wani, President Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) demanded that his suspension order be revoked or the Government should be ready to face agitation.
Wani said EJAC leaders would meet doctors tomorrow to decide the course of agitation about the revoking the suspension of his order.
Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan, president Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK), was suspended last Monday after being booked by police under the Unlawful Activities Act.
DAK spokesperson said that if suspension order of Dr Nissar was not revoked by tomorrow, they would go for an indefinite strike.
The doctors’ body in a statement said that doctors and paramedics in tertiary care and peripheral hospitals wore black bands against the unjustified suspension of the senior doctor.
“Dr Nissar was punished for raising social issues for which he should have been rewarded, but instead he was victimized at the behest of perpetrators of social evils,” the spokesperson said.
