BHADERWAH, Apr 10: In a significant step towards the development of eco-tourism infrastructure in Doda district, the electrification of Jai valley and the Forest Guest House was formally inaugurated by DDC Chairman Doda, Dhananter Singh Kotwal in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh.
The electrification project, executed by the Executive Engineer Electric (PDD) Division Doda, marks a major milestone in improving basic amenities in this picturesque tourist destination nestled in the Chenab valley.
On the same occasion, the artificial lake developed in Jai valley was also dedicated to the public. This new tourist attraction is expected to boost the local economy through increased footfall of nature lovers and adventure seekers.
The artificial lake is part of district administration’s broader efforts to transform Jai valley into a premier eco-tourism hotspot in J&K.
Adding to the green initiatives, DDC Chairman, Dhananter Singh Kotwal and DC Doda, Harvinder Singh also planted lavender saplings at the newly developed lavender nursery in Jai valley. This nursery will not only promote aromatic plant cultivation but will also generate livelihood opportunities for the local population.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including DDC Vice Chairperson, Sangeeta Rani; Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah, Sunil Bhutyal and other senior officials and stakeholders.
