Electrical employees express concern over decision of DISCOM

JAMMU, July 10: Non Gazetted Electrical Employees Association (NGEEA) here today held a meeting which was presided over by Raj Kumar, Association vice president.
Speakers in the meeting expressed serious concern over the decision of Jammu DISCOM authorities wherein the field staff especially Meter Readers have been asked to record meter reading and other data through e-utility app of IT Cell.
Speakers in the meeting claimed that the app is not working practically on the ground.
Gurmeet Singh, J&K secretary of the Association while addressing the meeting said the authorities have failed to install meters fully especially in rural areas.
He said that to collect revenue through meter reading is not possible and results in confusion and chaotic situation.
He demanded that authorities should withdraw the decision and ensure installation of meters first to all houses and then implement the decision otherwise the field staff will face unnecessary problems and the revenue may also suffer.
