Electoral reforms

Sir,
India the biggest democracy of the world has a very efficient, and successful election commission to conduct various elections in the country. The whole world has acknowledged the credibility of our election commission and praised it for its efficient, well planned and systematic election process.
But our election commission has to face awkward and adverse situations during elections because  of the deliberate violations of the code of conduct by the contesting candidates and their parties and some times the non-cooperation by the concerned administration.
Despite clear  cut direction of  the Supreme Court to the contesting candidates and their parties not to raise communal,  regional and caste based issues the candidates hardly heed to it.
There is no doubt that the election commission issues notices to the violators of the code of conduct and some times even registers FIRs against the violators, but it is just a formality and nothing more than that. It is because the election commission hasn’t powers to act tough.  Hence there is need to have tough electoral reforms to give more teeth to election commission in order it to be more effective with result oriented actions during the elections.
Yours etc….
