SAMBA, Apr 7: An elderly pedestrian lost his life in a tragic road accident along the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway in Samba on Tuesday. According to reports, a bus coming from Jammu towards Kathua hit an elderly man walking along the road, leaving him critically injured. Following the collision, he was immediately rushed to the District Hospital, Samba, in a critical condition, where doctors pronounced him dead.
The deceased has been identified as Swarn Singh (70), son of Tej Singh, a resident of Budhwani, tehsil and district Samba.
After a post-mortem examination, the body of the deceased was handed over to his family members for last rites. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case in connection with the incident and have initiated further investigations.
