SUNDERBANI, Sept 18: The dead body of an elderly man was recovered from the river bank in Sunderbani area late last evening.
A villager noticed the body lying on the bank of river near Tala Seri village and informed locals of the area. Later, information was passed on to the Sunderbani police.
SHO Sunderbani, Insp Rajeev Sharma rushed to the spot along with police party and shifted the dead body to Sub District Hospital Sunderbani.
The deceased was later identified as Sham Lal (62yrs), resident of village Tutia Ambkhori, Tehsil Beripatten in district Rajouri. He was missing from September 15 from his home. His relatives continued searching for him. After postmortem police handed over the dead body to his relatives. The police has registered a case for investigation.
