JAMMU, Aug 12: An elderly man died after he was hit by a rashly driven dumper at Janipur Chowk area here today.
Around 5:30 AM, one Bhushan Lal Mujoo (75) son of Neel Kanth Mujoo of Sector 2 Pamposh Colony, Janipur, Jammu, was hit by an unidentified dumper at Janipur Chowk while he was doing morning walk.
He was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him as dead on arrival.
After performing the medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased individual has been handed over to his family members.
Meanwhile, taking cognisance of the matter, police have started an investigation and launched a manhunt to arrest the absconding driver.
