SAMBA, Nov 24: An elderly man was killed and another injured in a road accident in the Main Chowk of Samba here on Monday evening.
According to reports, the two elderly men were riding a motorcycle when they were suddenly hit by an Army vehicle at the Main Chowk resulting in their grievous injuries. With the help of local residents and police, they were taken to the District Hospital, Samba, where a doctor declared one of them as brought dead.
The injured was discharged after treatment. The deceased has been kept in the mortuary at the District Hospital, Samba, for the post-mortem. The deceased has been identified as Karan Singh (81), a resident of Reiyan village, Samba, and the injured has been identified as Balwant Singh (70), a resident of Rapper Kathlai village, Samba. Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation.
