UDHAMPUR, Nov 4: An elderly person, who was apparently knocked to death by a moving train, was found dead near the Railway track at 47.50 km in village Soontha, near Ramnagar Station.
The deceased was identified as Prabhu Dayal (65), son of Baldev Raj, a resident of village Rathian Udhampur.
The dead body was recovered by a GRP patrolling party, early this morning. GRP took the dead body in its custody and then shifted it District Hospital Udhampur for the postmortem. After completion of legal formalities, the body was later handed over to the family members for last rites.
Police has registered the case under section 174 of CrPC.
