JAMMU, Mar 31: The Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC), Jammu province, has urged the Government to take immediate steps to resolve the long-pending demands of NHM employees ahead of their scheduled 48-hour symbolic protest on April 1 and 2 across the Jammu Division.
In a joint statement, EJAC leaders, including provincial president Mohd Ashraf Sheikh and general secretary Onkar Singh, said that despite repeated representations, the genuine issues of NHM employees remain unaddressed. They emphasized that the employees have played a crucial role in strengthening the public healthcare system, particularly during challenging times.
Highlighting their demands, EJAC pointed to the need for salary revision, social security benefits including EPF, retirement benefits, medical insurance, leave benefits, job security, and timely disbursement of salaries, terming them justified and long overdue.
EJAC stressed that timely redressal of these issues would boost employee morale and further strengthen healthcare delivery in the Union Territory.
