JAMMU, Apr 8: The J&K Government Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC-K) today appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to address the pending issues of the employees and keep budgetary provisions for the implementation of 7th Pay Commission in the State.
Talking to media-persons here today, State president of the EJAC-K, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan said that the employees have high hopes from the new Government headed by Mehbooba Mufti with regard to the resolution of their pending issues. He said the previous Government during 2011 had made written agreement with the JCC leadership but the same was not honoured. The employees were forced to adopt the agitational path.
” Now it is hoped that issues related to framing of policy for the regularization of all the daily rated/ casual/ temporary workers will be framed and pay anomalies of clerical cadre would be removed,” Khan said.
He further urged upon the Government to enhance medical allowance of the employees and pensioners from Rs 300 to Rs 2000 per month, release wages of protesting workers and issue orders of their regularization and release of 12% DA in favour of employees and pensioners. He also demanded reorganization of some PSUs and providing them budgetary support. Mr Khan appealed the new Finance Minister to keep provision in the budget for the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission.
Meanwhile, on this occasion members of three Unions from Agriculture department led by Amrik Singh, Umar Jan from Social Welfare Department, Vipin Kumar from Sports and Amrik Singh Sasan from PSUs also joined the EJAC-K. Amrik Singh was inducted as EJAC general secretary, Nazir Ahmed Bhat State vice president, Vipin Kumar organizer while Umar Jan as provincial secretary of the EJAC.
