JAMMU, Apr 17: A delegation of the Employees Joint Action Committee (R) today called on M. Raju, Commissioner /Secretary, General Administration Department, at the Civil Secretariat here and submitted a comprehensive charter of demands seeking redressal of long-standing issues concerning various categories of government employees in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The delegation, led by Babu Hussain Malik, president EJAC-R, comprised Muzafer Nabi- general secretary, Yashpal Sharma (convener), Kulwant Singh (vice president), Kamla Sharma, Naresh Kumar, Arun Kumar and others projected the pending demands of government employees and urged the Commissioner Secretary for immediate intervention.
The key demands presented included– regularisation of daily rated workers, regularisation of casual, contractual, need-based workers, ASHAs, Anganwadi Workers, Rehbar-e-Khel, Rehbar-e-Janglat, NHM employees, and Home Guards; redesignation of need based College Lecturers as Assistant Professors (Contractual) under SO 364 of 2020; release of pending retirement benefits-like GP Fund, Leave Salary, Gratuity, Commutation, etc., withheld for over eight months; release of 2% Dearness Allowance effective from January 2025; enhancement of Medical and House Rent Allowance in line with rates in other Union Territories and removal of Pay anomalies in the Clerical cadre and clearance all the pending SRO-43/120 cases.
