Decision for the resumption of these trains has been taken after periodic review of various sections by Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu, Vivek Kumar and other officials.
The trains to be resumed, include Jammu Tawi – Kanpur (12470), running from 02.10.2025; Jammu Tawi – Yoga Nagari Rishikesh (14606), operational from 05.10.2025; Jammu Tawi – Barauni (14692), operational from 03.10.25; Jammu – Sealdah (22318), operational from 08.10.2025; Jammu Tawi – Guwahati (15654), operational from 03.10.2025; Jammu Tawi – Gorakhpur (12588), operational from 04.10.2025; Jammu Tawi-Bhagalpur (15098), operational from 7.10.2025 and Jammu Tawi-Guwahati (15652), operational from 8.10.2025.
Pertinent to mention that heavy rainfall in the region had severely affected rail services on Jammu-Pathankot section with tracks and bridges bearing the brunt of the floods. Most of the trains had to be cancelled or terminated before their destination.
However, Divisional Railway authorities are periodically reviewing various sections and have so far resumed the operations of around 40 percent trains to and from Jammu, in a phased manner. With the resumption of these eight long distance trains, almost 50 percent train traffic will be normalized at Jammu Railway Station.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal told the Excelsior that these eight trains are being reinstated in the fourth phase after ensuring the safety and continuity of the railway track.
“Train operations in the division are gradually being normalized as soon as the technical work on the railway track and railway bridges is getting completed,” he said, adding that ongoing repair work on bridge number 137 is likely to be completed by October 15 following which operations of more trains are hoped to be resumed before the forthcoming Diwali.
To avoid any inconvenience, Railway authorities have advised the passengers to check the train schedules on the Northern Railway website or the relevant helpline numbers.
