Eid celebrated across Ladakh region with fervour, gaiety

JAMMU, July 6: The Eid-ul-Fitr marking the culmination of  fasting month of Ramadan was celebrated with religious fervour  and enthusiasm in Ladakh region today also.
The Shia community in Leh celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with great religious fervor and gaiety. The biggest congregation was witnessed at Historical Polo Ground Leh, where thousands of Muslims from city and its periphery offered Namaz under the chairmanship of Imam Jama Masjid Leh Sheikh Abdul Kassim Mutahary. Soon after the Namaz people hugged  each other, offered greetings and Eid Mubarak and visited their relatives and near and dear ones to greet them.
Greeting the people on the occasion Anjuman Imamiya President Ashraf Ali Barcha prayed that may peace, prosperity and communal harmony prevails in Ladakh and he also extended his greetings to the paramilitary, military forces guiding at the borders areas.
Muslims across Kargil district today offered Eid ul Fitr prayer at various religious places. The worshippers listened the sermons delivered by the clerics. In Hussain Park Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust, Chairman Guardian Council Shiekh Mohammad Mohaqiq led the prayers.
While in Islamia School Imam Jummah Shiekh Hussain Moqaddas led the prayers Where thousands of Muslims offered Namaz.
While delivering sermon at Hussaini Park Shiekh Mohammad Mohaqiq said that Ramzan is the month of Love, mercy and to understand the sense of responsibility. He said that in this Eid we should not forget poor people and give “ftra’ which is obligatory. So that the poor people can also celebrate Eid same zeal and charm as the rich people.
He further said “Muslims of the must unite against terrorism and “It is the need of hour”.
At the end of the sermon, the people prayed to Allah Almighty for the unity of Muslim Ummah and for the peace in Iraq, Syria, Medina, Yemen and Palestine
In Eidgah Kargil, thousands of Ahlesunnat Muslims and In Masjid Noorbakh-shia thousands people offered Eid prayers and thanked to Almighty for peaceful Ramzan .
In Suru, Sankoo , Drass , Chickten , Wakha, Saliskote and other parts of Kargil people have offered Eid prayers in which people prayed for peace , stability in the region and in the world and also prayed for Muslim unity .
In Butwani PRP chief Mir Ghulam Rasool while participating in Eid congregation cautioned Muslims of external forces who were misleading them for their vested interests. He said Islam teaches peace, brotherhood, respect for other religions, equality and fellow feeling and violence has no place in it.
He appealed the people to isolate those forces who misguide them on the name of Islam for their vested interests and asked the youth to be part of progressive world instead of playing in the hands of outside forces.
