More educational institutions celebrate Teachers’ Day

JAMMU, Sept 6: Teachers’ Day was celebrated today with great enthusiasm in various educational institutions across Jammu region.
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) today celebrated Teachers’ Day with great zeal. The celebrations began with paying tributes to Dr S Radhakrishnan. A video presentation on the life of Dr Radha Krishnan and other great teachers was presented by Dr Balbir Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, SMVDU. Some messages by former Vice Chancellors of SMVDU were also read during the function. Prof V Verma, Dean College of Engineering, was the chief guest, He felicitated some retired teachers from adjoining areas of SMVDU who shared their teaching experiences in front of the SMVDU faculty and staff members.
Dogra Group of Colleges celebrated Teacher’s Day to commemorate the contribution of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the former President of India, who in 1962 said, his birthday should be celebrated as Teachers’ Day. The exceptional contribution of the unsung teachers who shaped the destiny of our nation was highlighted by the students and teachers alike. The respective Principals of the Dogra Law College, Dogra College of Education and Dogra Degree College gave highly informative lectures to their respective staff on the topic “Best Practices of Teaching in today’s World.”
GDC Thannamandi celebrated Teachers’ Day with great pomp and show. A large number of dignitaries were present on the occasion. MLA Rajouri, Advocate Qammar Hussain Chowdhary was the chief guest whereas Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Thannamandi, Ashwani Kumar Sharma, was guest of honor. Principal of the College, Dr Shakeel Ahmed Raina presided over the function. At this occasion, a symposium on the topic “Role of Teachers in Modern Era” was organized. Third issue of the College newsletter “The Shahdara” was also released by the chief guest.
IMS celebrated Teachers’ Day with pomp and show. The students of both the departments-computer science and management studies put up a great show in order to show their gratitude to their teachers. The celebration was graced by the Chariman (JGEI), Vidhi S Singh, Director (IMS), Prof JR Dhotra, chief coordinator, IMS, Nidhi Jamwal and all the faculty members. The celebration started with a welcome note by the students along with various scintillating performances along with fun filled acts. The celebrations concluded with a cake cutting ceremony.
Government RSM Higher Secondary School, Rahya celebrated Teachers’ Day by organizing a grand function, wherein Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga, was the chief guest. Reiterating Government’s commitment to develop and upgrade schools as model schools, the Minister adopted the School and said that best efforts would be made to equip this school with all latest infrastructure and facilities for providing better education to students. The Minister also planted a sapling in the premises of the school and distributed mementos among the participants who presented cultural programmes.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated with pomp and show at Gandhi Memorial Higher Secondary School, RS Pura, where students performed the duties of the teachers. At last, a cake prepared by students of class 10th, was cut by Raj Kumari, secretary, management committee of the school, and distributed among the students and staff.
Students of Mother India Senior Secondary School, RS Pura celebrated Teachers’ Day with great zeal and fervor. Students of Class 12th played the roles of teachers and delivered lectures to the students of Class 11th. Principal of the School, Sonia Tohra along with teachers paid tribute to Dr S Radha Krishnan. In the last, gifts were also distributed among teachers by the Principal. Students also presented gifts to the teachers.
Amid Teachers’ Day celebrations National Academy Secondary School (NASS) Ramban organized inaugural function of newly constructed school building at Cafeteria Morh, Ramban. MLA Ramban, Neelam Kumar Langeh, formerly inaugurated the school building in presence of CEO Ramban, Mohd Shrief, Deputy CEO, Ramban, Bal Ji Thaploo and ZEO Ramban, Zubaida Parveen besides other dignitaries. A cultural bonanza was also present by the students of the school. Speaking on the occasion, MLA impressed upon the students to follow the footsteps of Dr Radha Krishnan for their overall development.
Students of Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua organized a surprise programme for their teachers to celebrate Teachers’ Day. They arranged a small function to honour them. The students presented gala show of cultural items in the form of skits, songs, dances to show their respect, gratitude and love for their teachers. The senior students were dressed up as teachers and Principal playing their roles. Students managed the classes and organized function themselves. The teachers enjoyed a lot of games arranged by the students.
Students and teachers of zone Pouni celebrated Teachers’ Day by organizing various activities in their respective schools. The special campaign was organized by Sanjeev Kumar Sharma CRP under the guidelines of VK Soni, Chief Education Officer, Reasi and Gopal Sharma, Zonal Education Officer, Pouni.
Aadarsh Bhartiya Samaj (ABS), a social volunteer organization working to promote education, environment, health and Nationhood among the general masses and students community in particular, celebrated “Teachers Day” at its Library at Bhour Camp, Jammu with the message ‘Respect Teachers-Respect Educators’. Chairman, ABS, Col (Retd) RK Sharma and president, Daljeet Singh, also attended the function.
Teachers’ Day was also celebrated at MC Khalsa High School, Chand Nagar, Jammu. The students presented a variety of cultural programmes. Ex-Minister, Harbans Singh, chairman of the Trust, was the chief guest and Dr Madhu Singh, Principal, BEd College, was the guest of honour. At Last, refreshment was given to the students and a tea party was organized for the teachers.
Scientia International School celebrated Teacher’s Day with full gaiety and enthusiasm. Students presented self-composed poems, songs and expressed their views about the life of Dr S Radhakrishnan. They also presented gifts to their favourite teachers and performed their duties. Principal, Bharti Bhardwaj, deliberated upon the teaching and philosophy of Dr Radha Krishnan and motivated the staff and students to follow his teaching.
Nightingale Pre School today celebrated Teachers Day with great pomp and show in its premises. Dressed up in teachers’ attire, students conducted the proceedings of the school assembly and also took classes. A colourful cultural programme was also arranged by the students for the teaching faculty. Various dance items were presented by the students. Sonia Jain, Principal of the school, in his address highlighted the teachings of Dr S Radhakrishnan.
