Educational institutions celebrate Republic Day with patriotic fervor

JAMMU, Jan 27: Educational institutions across Jammu and Kashmir celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor, fostering a sense of national pride among students and faculty.
The Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar. The event was presided over by Incharge-Director Prof Roohie Naaz Mir, who unfurled the Tricolor on the campus. The event was attended by Deans, HoDs, HOC’s, and other staff members. A grand parade by the Institute’s security wing followed the flag hoisting ceremony.
The celebration in CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM) Jammu commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Director Dr Zabeer Ahmed, followed by the National Anthem. In his address, Dr Ahmed highlighted the significance of Republic Day. A key feature of the event was a cultural program presented by the students of RRL High School, Jammu, showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage and diversity.
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) celebrated the Day by organizing an event, held at the university campus, that brought together faculty members, staff, students, and dignitaries. The celebrations began with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Pragati Kumar, accompanied by the singing of the National Anthem. In his address, the VC emphasized the importance of upholding democratic values, fostering innovation, and contributing to nation-building.
During Republic Day celebration at SKUAST Jammu, Prof BN Tripathi, Vice-Chancellor, unfurled the National Flag. In addition to paying homage to the Father of the Nation with floral tribute, Prof Tripathi addressed the University’s staff. Cultural programme was also organized to commemorate the auspicious festival of the nation.
The celebrations in Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) held at the scenic lawns of the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat. Registrar of the University, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza JKAS unfurled the National Flag. The event began with the ceremonial flag hoisting, followed by the singing of the National Anthem evoking a sense of pride and nationalism among attendees.
In Central University of Jammu (CUJ), the celebrations commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Sanjeev Jain, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. In his address, Prof Sanjeev Jain reflected on the significance of the Republic Day, acknowledging India’s progress and the university’s contributions towards the nation’s advancement.
Central University of Kashmir (CUK) marked the Day with great enthusiasm at its Tulmulla Campus. VC Prof A Ravinder Nath, unfurled the Tricolor and took the salute of the marching contingent of security guards, embodying the spirit of national pride and unity. The event witnessed the presence of Deans of Schools, HoDs, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, faculty members, etc. In his address, Prof Nath emphasized the responsibility of citizens and institutions in nation-building.
Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) celebrated the Republic Day at its premises, near Gujjar Nagar bridge. The Tricolor was unfurled by the chairman B R Sharma, patron Dr Ashok Bhan and general secretary Prof Alka Sharma. Present on the occasion included former DGP & CVC Kuldeep Khoda, senior vice president IIPA JBS Johar, vice president K B Jandial, joint secretary Prof Anil Gupta, members of executive committee Prem Gupta, Dr C M Seth and Col Karan Singh, and other members of the IIPA.
Department of Botany and Zoology, Cluster University of Jammu, Jammu collaboratively celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm. On the occasion, Dr Sugandha Mahajan (HoD/Coordinator Botany) and Dr Meenakshi Bandral Chib (HoD/Coordinator Zoology) along with flag hoisting expressed their views. Prof K K Sharma (Project Incharge, Cluster University of Jammu and former VC of Himalayan University, Itanagar) also graced the occasion.
University of Jammu (JU) celebrated the Day, with a vibrant celebration marked by patriotic fervor and enthusiasm. VC Prof Umesh Rai unfurled the National Flag in the Campus, amid the resonating notes of the National Anthem. In his address, Prof Rai emphasized the pivotal role of teachers, officers, and staff as role models in inspiring the next generation. In Reasi campus of JU, Prof Sushil K Pandey (Director of the campus) hoisted the Tricolour.
The University of Kashmir (KU) marked the celebrations by vibrant participation from the university fraternity across all its campuses. At the main campus, VC Prof Nilofer Khan hoisted the National Flag on the front lawns of the VC’s Secretariat. The ceremony began with the national anthem which echoed a sense of unity and pride across the gathering. In her address, Prof Khan highlighted the significance of the day in reaffirming the commitment to the principles enshrined in the Constitution.
The Republic Day was celebrated by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) at Regional Centre Jammu. It was the first Republic Day celebration in the new Regional Centre building. The officers and staff of the Regional Centre including their families participated in the celebrations. Dr Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director, unfurled the National Flag in the campus which was followed by National Anthem recitation.
Dogra Educational Trust organized a grand celebration on the occasion of the 76th Republic Day at its campus. The event commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak (chairman of the Trust), accompanied by the singing of the National Anthem. Principals of all colleges of the group participated in the celebration. The students added a patriotic fervor to the celebration colorful performances.
In Sant Mela Singh College of Education, Digiana (Jammu), chief guest Prof S P S Dutta (Prof Emeritus, University of Jammu) hoisted the Tricolour in presence of Principal Dr Kiran Luthra, staff, students and members of the managing committee.
The flag-hoisting ceremony by chief guest R S Chib (former minister) along with guest of honour Bharat Sharma, Dr Sunita Sharma (Principal), Kunal Chib (Member Secretary) marked the celebrations in Chenab College of Education. In his address, R S Chib highlighted the immense contributions of freedom fighters and underscored the significance of Republic Day. The occasion also featured a vibrant cultural program.
In Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College, Jammu, the program commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Principal Prof (Dr) Romesh Kumar Gupta. Addressing the gathering, Dr Romesh emphasized the significance of Republic Day as a cornerstone of India’s democratic values. Adding to the patriotic fervor, the NCC Cadets enlivened the atmosphere with heartfelt slogans celebrating the motherland.
GDC Ramnagar celebrated Day with patriotic spirit under the patronage of Principal, Prof (Dr) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal. The celebrations commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Principal, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The event proceeded with a vibrant cultural program, beginning with an inspiring speech by Dr Pankaj Sharma (HoD English).
The celebrations also held at GDC Surankote where the Tricolour was hoisted by Principal Prof Abdul Karim Bajraan. At the occasion, march-past was presented by a contingent of NCC cadets and NSS volunteers. Later, the students across various semesters participated in various activities.
In Government Deputy SP Aman Thakur memorial Degree College, Kastigarh, Principal Prof Koshal Kumar Magotra unfurled the National Flag. Students and staff of the College enthusiastically participated in the event.
Under the dynamic leadership of Principal, Dr Sujata Slathia, and the unwavering support of Prof Ramzan Ali (Vice Principal) celebrated Republic Day with great fervor and patriotism. The event brought together students and staff in a spirit of unity for the nation. The celebrations began with the ceremonial unfurling of the National Flag by Prof Ramzan Ali, which was followed by the recital of the National Anthem.
SPMR College of Commerce joined the nation in celebrating the Republic Day. The College organized a series of events to commemorate this momentous occasion. The flag hoisting ceremony was done by Principal Prof (Dr) Rajinder Singh, who in his address, emphasized the significance of the Day and highlighted the importance of upholding the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution. The event was followed by a guard of honour by NCC cadets.
Standard Institute of Education, Rown Dhar Road (Udhampur) celebrated Republic Day with pomp and show. The chief guest on this occasion was Chain Singh, Principal of the School, who hoisted the National Flag. A beautiful cultural programme was presented by the students.
Police Public School Doda, achieved outstanding success in the skit competition held on the eve of Republic Day celebrations in Doda. The School’s talented students secured the first position in the competition, showcasing their exceptional skills and creativity. Further students secured 2nd position in the March Past Competition held during the 76th Indian Republic Day celebrations at Sports Stadium Doda. The School is functioning under the administration of DIG DKR range Shridhar Patil.
Heritage School celebrated the Day with great enthusiasm through a series of special assemblies which culminated on January 26. Primary Wing and Secondary Wing students performed a graceful dance of patriotism. Principal of the School, Akash Pradhan encouraged the students to always feel proud of being Indians.
Stephens International Public School claimed first prize in the cultural competition at the annual Republic Day parade held at M A Stadium. Director of the School, Satvinder Saini along with Chairman, Dr Kamal Saini, Trustee, Kunal Saini, Principal Dr Manjari Sehgal and her entire team said the victory is not only a reflection of students’ talents but also the collective effort and dedication of the entire School community.
The celebration in Saplings International School, Karan Vihar (Thathar, Bantalab), was marked by cultural performances by the students of DRS Kids International School. Chief Guest, Nirmal Kotwal (president, J&K High Court Bar Association) and guest of honour, Baldev Singh (vice president of the Association) along with chairperson of the School Roopam Kour Soni, MD Ajeet Singh Soni and Director Saroj Sharma, unfurled the Tricolour. Principal of the School, Sonu Nayyar delivered an inspiring speech.
Government Mixed Higher Secondary School Purkhoo (Camp) Jammu celebrated the Day with great patriotism. The National Flag was unfurled by the Principal L N Bhat in presence of the staff.
In Government Girls Higher Secondary School (Camp) Shastri Nagar (Jammu), the Tricolour was unfurled by Principal Sunil K Dhar and Sanjay Kumar Sopori. They exhorted student community to work for building the country.
The Day was celebrated at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Camp Jagti Nagrota with great excitement. The National Flag was unfurled by the Vinod Kumar Bhat, Principal, in presence of students, Staff members and many social activists of the camp.
GHSS Barmeen commemorated Republic Day with great zeal and zest. Flag hosting ceremony was conducted by Principal Neenu Ganju. Later on, students presented cultural programmes.
The Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at Government Hari Singh Higher Secondary School, Jammu, under the guidance of Principal Charu Anand. The program commenced with hoisting of the National flag and recitation of the National Anthem. In her speech, Principal emphasized the importance of Republic Day.
GHS HSS Camp Bohri (Jammu) celebrated Republic Day with patriotic fervor in its school premises. Chief guest Vevin Moza (social activist) along with Principal of the School, Sanjay Pandita unfurled the National Flag amidst the presentation of the National Anthem. This was followed by a series of cultural programmes presented by the students.
Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu, celebrated the Day with great enthusiasm. National Flag was hoisted by the Managing Director, Kunwar Gambhir Dev Singh Charak. This was followed by singing of National Anthem. Principal, Devinder Kour urged everyone to work together for progress of the nation.
The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at GHSS Battal Ballian. The event was graced by MLA Udhampur East, R S Pathania, DDC Member Puran Chand Sharma, Principal Kushal Kishore and former sarpanch Sunita Devi. The celebrations began with the hoisting of National Flag. Speaking on the occasion MLA Pathania emphasized the importance of unity and national progress.
GHSS Ramgarh celebrated the Day with patriotic fervour. Chief guest was Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA Ramgarh, who unfurled the National Flag and delivered the message of unity, progress and national pride. DDC Ramgarh Sarabjit Singh Johal, former BDC chairman Darshan Singh, Abhimanyu Kalsotra and others were also present.
New Modern Academy Chak Rakwalan celebrated Republic Day and the National Flag was hoisted by Shamim Akhter. This was followed by a beautiful patriotic dance-cum-skit by the students.
Sanmati Vimal Jain Academy celebrated the Day with enthusiasm. The celebrations began with the unfurling of National Flag by Principal Manvi Raina. A beautiful dance by Primary Wing students was also presented.
Shaheed Kuldeep Kumar Memorial GHSS Gundla (Zone Dansal) celebrated Republic Day along with adjoining schools. The National Flag was unfurled by Veero Devi, mother of Shaheed Kuldeep Kumar in the presence of Principal Manoj Kumar and ex-sarpanch Ghulam Mustafa.
GHSS Salmerhi celebrated the Day with fervour. All the Schools of the cluster HSS Salmerhi participated in the celebrations. Principal HSS Salmerhi Prem Nath was chief guest and he unfurled the National Flag.
Raina Higher Secondary School, Paloura celebrated Republic Day. Preeti Sharma, Principal of the School hoisted the National Flag and delivered a lecture on the sacrifices of freedom fighters. In Raina Higher Secondary School, Chak Seri (Bhalwal), Mohit Raina, secretary of the Management Committee of the School hoisted the National Flag.
In FM Smart School, the celebration commenced with unfurling of National Flag by Chairman of the School, Rafi Choudhary, followed by the recitation of National Anthem. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by the Principal, Sanjay Kumar Sharma.
Shaurya International School also celebrated the Republic Day. Harinder Mahajan, Chairman of the School Management Committee was chief guest and he hoisted the National Flag. The chief guest was accompanied by Vice Chairman, Sahil Mahajan; Director, Pooja Mahajan and Principal, Dr Rajesh Gandral.
Unique International Public School celebrated the Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism. The chief guest for the occasion was Col Ravinder Sharma. Principal, Ajay Sharma delivered a stirring speech emphasizing the importance of Republic Day, following hoisting of Tricolour by the chief guest.
Guru Harkrishan Public School, Guru Nanak Nagar (Jammu) celebrated the Republic Day with patriotic fervour. Principal of the School, Rita Popli highlighted importance of the Day.
Sant Hare Ram Dass Public School celebrated Republic Day under the guidance of Chairman Maharaj Sant Hare Ram Dass and Principal, Prof Aekta Gupta. The event featured the participation from students and was well-attended by management committee members including Devkinandan, Parshotam Khajuria and Kulbhushan Khajuria.
Government High School (GHS) Moud Zone Jib (Udhampur) celebrated the Day under the chairmanship of Bhushan Lal, Headmaster of the School, who along with Mani Ram, ex-sarpanch Moud hoisted the National Flag in the presence of staff members, president Youth Club Moud and Panchayat members of Moud.
In Government Middle School (GMS), Old Janipur (Jammu), the Tricolur was hosted by Incharge of the School, Sonika Padha along with VEC members and teachers. Students filled the atmosphere with patriotism through their performances.
GMS Barnai celebrated the occasion with great zeal. Taramani Sharma, Assistant Regional Transport Officer was chief guest. Anshu Akash Gupta, AEE and Jasbir Singh, Motor Vehicle Inspector were guests of honour. VEC members, Avneet Gupta, B L Digra, Mangat Ram Gupta, Balbir Singh, Bir Singh and Ravi Barna were also present on the occasion. The chief guest unfurled the National Flag. Kuldeep Singh Bandral Incharge Headmaster of the School highlighted the supreme sacrifices of freedom fighters.
GMS Lower Gandala (Zone Udhampur) celebrated the Republic Day with great zeal. On the occasion, Headmaster of the School, Madhu Balla unfurled the National Flag.
