EC Tashi visit villages to review ongoing developmental works in Zanskar

ZHANSKAR, June 23:  To review the ongoing developmental works and execution of new works sanctioned under Capex and SDP schemes in the Sub Division, Executive Councilor RDD, Panchayati Raj, Forest, Wildlife and Information LAHDC, Kargil Punchok Tashi visited various sites of projects in the Sub Division on Sunday.

 

During the tour, the EC reviewed the construction of new Photang at Karsha and directed the concerned engineers to complete the remaining works within a short period in view of the visit of His Holiness the 14th Dalia Lama in the month of July.

 

The construction committee of the Photang requested the EC to provide sufficient funds for completion of the Photang and arrangement for the summer mega symposium scheduled to be held in Karsha monastery this year.

 

The EC also visited Tangkar Togtha, Zongkhul Gonpa. During the visit EC inaugurate the link road to Zongkhul Gonpa, which was executed by the monks of the gonpa its self. The monks requested the EC to arrange the expenditure occurred on this link road.

Councilor Karsha constituency Stanzin Jigmat announced to provide funds to meet the expenditure of the link road.

 

The EC laid foundation stone for conservation of amenities of Zongkhul Gonpa being executed at an estimated cost of Rs.249.00 lacs.

 

Public delegations meet the visiting dignitaries at village Tangkar, Togtha, Thang and Atting. At Atting, the EC also visited the site for construction of “Dupchen Cultural study centre” and finalized the sites.

 

During the tour Councilor Karsha constituency Stanzin Jigmat, Executive Engineer ZDA/R&B, Block Development Officer and engineers accompanied the EC.

 

Later, the  EC also Visited Icher village of Lungnak and meet public delegations and laid the foundation stone of multi-purpose hall being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.328.00 lacs.

The villagers put off their demands of sanctioning of land compensation upgradation of the link road and irrigation kanals.
