DySP Ayoub’s killing widely condemned

JAMMU, June 23: Various political and other organizations have strongly condemned the lynching of  Police officer in Srinagar city last night.
While strongly condemning the lynching of DySP Mohd Ayoub Pandit in Jamia Masjid area of Old Srinagar city  last night, the JKPCC expressed deep sorrow over this unfortunate and tragic incident.  It stated that whatever has happened in Srinagar  city last night,  was inhumane  and can not be tolerated.  ” Congress Party strongly condemns the innocent killings in any form and it is highly condemnable,” a PCC spokesman said.
The PCC further added that people should not take law in hands, rather they should make efforts to restore peace and normalcy, as that the killings of any innocent person  by any one will  be treated as a move aiming vitiate the atmosphere of peace, which should not happen in a civilised  society.
The police officer was stripped naked and then stoned to death by a violent mob when he fired upon in self defence  in view of ugly situation created near  a  mosque during night.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also condemned the lynching of  the Dy Superintendent of Police  Mohammad, who was lynched by mob outside Jamia Masjid in Srinagar’s old city last night.
In a statement here the BJP spokesman, Khalid Jehangir, said, “The lynching of the DySP of J&K Police is heart rendering. He was killed by the same people whom he protected.”
The BJP spokesman said, “Henchmen of a few people derive sadistic pleasure by lynching and killing people just to appease their bosses sitting across the Line of Control (LoC),” Jehangir said,
“The Government should reconsider the decision of providing Z- security to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, whom the slain DySP was guarding.”
While condemning the brutal lynching of Police officer, outside Jamia Mosque in downtown Srinagar, MLC Vikramaditya Singh expressed shock and grief over the murder of the police officer. In a statement here,  he  said that the blatant disregard of law and order and killings of local police personnel and security forces are very alarming.
The MLC said tragic and brutal killing of  DSP Pandit reflects the local Kashmiri mind-set and the extent to which they are willing to go, on a path of self-destruction. The MLC appealed to Prime Minister Modi to save Jammu and Ladakh regions from fast growing radicalisation that is clearly evident in Kashmir.
Vikramaditya extended his deep condolences to the bereaved family of the DSP.  He said the officer was on security duty as part of an anti-sabotage team outside Jamia mosque in downtown Srinagar when he was lynched by a mob and beaten to death. The pistol of DSP  was also snatched after he fired in the air in self-defence.
Prof Bhim Singh, chief patron of National Panthers Party expressed deep shock on the act of heinous murder of a young police officer, in  front of Jamia Masjid, Nowhatta in Srinagar when there was no such situation in the area.
Prof Singh urged President of India to act according to the mandate of the Constitution of India without delay as any more delay shall prove a disaster for the unity and integrity of the entire nation. He said that some undesirable and unwanted elements from across the border have cross lined into the State with a definite plan to create chaos, disorder and lawlessness in J&K with a dangerous plan to disintegrate India. That needs to be checked forthwith. The only way out is to dismiss the Government in J&K which has no control over the situation.
CPI (M)  leader  and MLA Kulgam,  MY Tarigami also condemned the lynching of police officer in Srinagar and said such incidents do not serve the interests of people of Kashmir. ” It is heinous crime and no words are enough to condemn it. It is very unfortunate,” Tarigami said.
