BILLAWAR, Sept 30: A meeting of women workers of National Conference was held at Gurha Kalyal (Phaya) here, under the chairmanship of provincial president, NC, Women Wing, Vijay Lakshmi Dutta, to discuss the public issues.
A large number of women of the area attended the meeting and apprised the NC provincial president about their problems. They demanded improvement in water supply and expressed resentment on electricity bills sent by PDD, alleging the bills do not bear correct meter readings.
While addressing the meeting, Dutta said that the Coalition Government had started so many schemes for the welfare of the farmers because farmers were the backbone of the State. The great achievement of the Coalition Government is the formation of Kissan Advisory Board, which always give suggestions to the Government and other authorities regarding the betterment of the farmers.
She assured the locals to take up the issue of drinking water, power supply, irrigation and others with the higher authorities for their redressal.
