JAMMU, May 24: A delegation of the Durganagar Welfare Coordination Committee today met with the Managing Director of Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) and senior officers of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department to discuss pressing issues related to electricity and water supply in Ward Number 64.
The delegation, comprising Sanjay Ganjoo, M K Razdan, and Chand Ambardar, highlighted the problems of unscheduled power cuts and frequent tripping despite the area having 100% metering and being among the top contributors in revenue generation.
They also raised concerns regarding Feeder MU9 at CPS Muthi, stating that disruptions on this line affect the water supply to the entire locality.
Taking immediate note, the MD JPDCL issued on-spot directions to the concerned SE, XENs of Distribution and STD, and AEEs to find a permanent solution.
Initially, he directed that load from overloaded domestic feeders RN6 and RN2 be shifted to under-loaded feeders.
The delegation further discussed the pending installation of a feeder at the new tube well in Swarn Vihar.
The XEN PDD confirmed that a Letter of Intent (LoI) has been issued and work will begin once funds are released by the PHE Department.
Later, the delegation also met with XEN Mechanical and Civil, PHE, and requested immediate release of funds for the project.
They also contacted the SE PHE to expedite the process.
The Committee urged the departments to address these long-standing issues promptly to provide relief to the residents.
