Durga Nagar residents for renovation of tube well

JAMMU, July 25: A joint meeting of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee Sector One and Sector Two held under the leadership of Roshan Lal Raina and Sanjay Ganjoo highlighted various problems of the area.
The meeting was among others also addressed by Ravinder Bakshi, chairman of the Committee and Bharat Bushan Bhat Gosani which expressed grave dismay over delaying tactics of PHE authorities in renovating the tube well at Durga Nagar Park with the result the contaminated water is being supplied to the area putting the people to great health hazards.
They said besides the water supply is prolonged in the Monsoon season. The meeting renewed its appeal to PHE authorities to take up the renovation of tube well in hand without any delay. It also appealed CE PHE and Mayor JMC to look into the problem.
The meeting demanded immediate construction of lanes and drains in Durga Nagar, Sector One and Two and made an appeal to higher ups in this regard.
The meeting also made an appeal to RTO to ensure that the matador services are restored on Bantalab-Barnai road which have been abandoned during the COVID period. Though matador services were resumed everywhere in the UT except this road with the result the people are facing many hardships.
C L Zutshi, Bansi Lal, Ashok Ji, G L Sahani, Bushan Lal, Roshan Lal Koul and Avtar Krishan attended the meeting.
