JAMMU, Nov 19: The Durga Nagar Welfare Committee president, Roshan Lal Raina demanded that the daily water supply in the area instead of a gap of three to four days. He demanded water supply be provided to Khatri Mohalla Durga Nagar and leakages be plugged.
He also demanded deployment of adequate staff at J&K Bank Branch, Durga Nagar and made an appeal to Bank Chairman in this regard.
Raina said a delegation of Committee has met Chief Engineer, PHE for solution of water scarcity in the area. He said the people are facing worst problems due to shortage of water and they have to store the drinking water for days together which can create health hazards.
Meanwhile Raina and Corporator Ward 64, Kapil Chib kick started the macdamization of various roads and lanes in Durga Nagar area today.
The work will be executed by PWD and Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) respectively. The corporator on the occasion assured the people that the development will be his main priority.
Bihari Lal, M L Pandita, B B Gosani, M L Bhat, B L Pandita and C L Zutshi were also present on the occasion.
