JAMMU, June 28: Duggar Pradesh Party expressed its serious concern on the increase of bovine animals smuggling for the last two -three years from Jammu region to Kashmir and criminal silence of the BJP – PDP alliance over the issue which is a serious threat to the communal harmony and brotherhood in the State.
Uday Chand, President of the Party said every day four -five incidents of bovine animals smuggling cases are reported by the police on both the routes towards Kashmir, via Ramban and via Mughal Road, and in every case police seized the vehicles, registered cases, arrests the smugglers and nobody knows the fate of rescued animals as the police have no place or arrangement for keeping animals.
Mr Chand said after construction of Mughal Road it was explained that it will help in increase the flow of tourists to Rajouri, Poonch and Kashmir but it has been experienced that the flow of anti-social and anti-national activities on Mughal Road have increased and it is being done under the nose of the Government. Nor the previous Government took steps to curb this nor presnt coalition is serious to curb the same, he added.
He said that Executive Wing of J&K Police on both the routes is doing well in performing their duty and everyday arresting the smugglers, registering cases but because of weak laws, the smugglers are increasing their illegal activities day-by-day as the political leadership in power lack will to curb the menace of bovine animals smuggling and sleeping over the issue which may took the State into another nuisance, or towards communal incidents.
Mr Uday Chand strongly warned the State Government for its criminal sleep over the serious issue and demanded strong measures be taken to curb the menace of bovine animals smuggling.
