JAMMU, Mar 10: On the auspicious occasion of the 95th birthday of Dr Karan Singh, former Sadr-e-Riyasat of Jammu & Kashmir and Chairman Trustee, Dharmarth Trust (DT), a series of religious ceremonies were organised today to seek divine blessings for his happiness, good health and long life.
A solemn Rudrabhishek, Pooja Archana and Havan were performed at the historic Shri Raghunath Ji Temple, invoking the blessings of Lord Rama for the revered leader’s well-being.
Dr P S Pathania, president of the Dharmarth Trust, performed the Havan at the temple premises, invoking the blessings of Lord Rama for the revered leader’s well-being.
The rituals were conducted with full Vedic tradition and were attended by priests, devotees and well-wishers who gathered in large numbers to participate in the celebrations.
As a mark of seva and community spirit, a langar was also organised for devotees, in keeping with the noble traditions of the Dharmarth Trust.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Pathania said that Maharaja Dr Karan Singh is not only the Chairman Trustee of the Dharmarth Trust but also a source of inspiration and guiding light for the entire organisation.
He said that it is a matter of immense privilege and honour for the Trust to offer prayers for the long, healthy and blessed life of such a distinguished son of Jammu & Kashmir.
Meanwhile, a special Havan was also performed at the revered Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple by Avinash, additional Secretary, DT and Darshan Sharma, Manager of the Kheer Bhawani Temple, where prayers were offered for the long and healthy life of the Maharaja.
