SRINAGAR, Aug 18: In view of recent cloudburst incidents, the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has directed all Chief Education Officers and Heads of Institutions to strictly implement safety protocols for the protection of students and staff during inclement weather.
An advisory issued in this context stresses heightened vigilance, especially in disaster-prone areas, and calls for precautionary measures in schools near rivers, streams, and lakes, including continuous monitoring of water levels, well-rehearsed evacuation plans, and constant communication with disaster management agencies.
