JAMMU, July 16: A prominent dry fruit seller of the city died after he was hit by an unknown vehicle at Trikuta Nagar area here today.
Radhey Raman Gupta (60) son of Amarnath Gupta of Sector 4, Trikuta Nagar Jammu, the owner of famous Chuni Lal Amarnath Dry Fruit shop at Raghunath Bazar Jammu, was hit by an unknown vehicle near Shotu General Store, Trikuta Nagar Jammu, resulting in injuries to him, a police official said.
He was taken to Government Medical College Jammu, where doctors declared him as dead on arrival, he said.
While the body has been shifted to the mortuary of the hospital for conducting the post-mortem examination, a case under the relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Trikuta Nagar and further investigation taken up. Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt to arrest the driver who hit the dry fruit seller.
