ANANTNAG, Oct 14: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Anantnag have attached property worth around Rs 66 lakh belonging to a father-son duo involved in drug trafficking in the Bijebehara town.
Officials said the attached assets include a double-story residential house and a single-story commercial complex located in the village of Tulkhan.
According to them, properties were acquired through proceeds of narcotic trafficking by the accused, identified as Mohammad Saleem Dar alias Sahib Matto and his father Abdul Rasheed Dar, both residents of Tulkhan.
Officials further said Mohammad Saleem was earlier booked under FIR number 167/2025 under sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act, while his father was involved in FIR number 113/2025 under sections 8/20 of the same Act, both registered at Police Station Bijbehara.
Following investigation, the properties were formally seized under sections 68E and 68F of the NDPS Act.
Meanwhile, the J&K Police reiterated a zero-tolerance policy against the drug trafficking and urged citizens to cooperate by sharing information about narcotic activities in their areas.
