SRINAGAR, June 28: Police today said to have arrested three drug peddlers in Pulwama and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A Police party at Police Station Pulwama during patrolling at Tengpuna Pulwama intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK13D-0351 with three persons on board.
“They have been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Yousuf Sheikh, Nazir Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Rehman Dar and Fayaz Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar all residents of Tengpuna Pulwama,” police said.
Police said that during checking, team was able to recover 53 Kgs of Poppy Straw and 3 grams of Brown Sugar from their possession. “They have been arrested and shifted to the police station where they remain in custody.”
Accordingly, police said, a case vide FIR No 184/21 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama and further investigation has been taken up.
