UDHAMPUR, Aug 17: In a crackdown on drug trafficking, Udhampur Police attached bank account of a narcotics smuggler under NDPS Act.
According to Police, an amount of Rs 8.64 lakhs lying in bank account of the drug peddler namely Raj Rupinder Singh, son of Harbhajan Singh of Jhib Enclave, Garhi Cantt, Udhampur has been attached.
The action has been taken under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 03/2025 registered at Police Station Rehambal under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Kud apprehended a drug peddler who was evading arrest since 2017. The arrested individual, namely Shoket Hussain Bhat, son of Late Ghulam Mohd. Bhat, resident of Haweli Madena Sahib Srinagar, had been absconding in connection with case FIR No. 01/2011 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act registered at PS Kud.
An arrest warrant was issued by the Additional Sessions Court Udhampur, in order to bring the absconder to justice. Acting on the warrant, the police team of PS Kud arrested the said absconder from Udhampur and produced him in the court of law.
