JAMMU, Jan 10: An alleged drug peddler was arrested with 3.30 grams of heroin-like substance in RS Pura area here, police said.
During routine patrolling near Petrol Pump Chakrohi, Suchetgarh on January 9, a team of Border Police Post Chakrohi, intercepted a suspicious Hyundai Creta vehicle (JK02CF-0650), a police official said.
He said the driver of the vehicle tried to flee on seeing the police party but was overpowered at a distance and put to search.
The police official said during the search of the suspicious individual, later identified as Sunil Choudhary of Hansa, Tehsil Suchetgarh, District Jammu, 3.30 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered.
Accordingly, he said, the accused individual was arrested and booked in case FIR number 09/2026 under sections 8/21/22/60 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation taken up. The arrest was made under the supervision of SHO RS Pura Ravi Singh Parihar.
