POONCH, Apr 9: In a continued drive against drug-trafficking and substance abuse, Poonch police today nabbed a drug-peddler and recovered some quantity of heroin from his possession.
Reports said a police party from Poonch Police Station, during routine naka, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No. JK12A-4748. On checking, one person identified as Gulnaz Ahmed, son of Ikhlaq Hussain resident of Fatehpur, Mandi was found travelling in the vehicle.
Upon frisking nearly 7.70 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. The accused was immediately taken into custody and the contraband substance seized on the spot.
In this regard, FIR No. 56/2026 under NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Poonch. Further investigation was in progress.
