KATRA, Mar 2: Continuing its intensified drive against drug trafficking, Katra Police apprehended a drug peddler and recovered 6.28 grams of heroin like substance from his possession.
The accused, identified as Mohd Iqbal, son of Ghulam Hussain, resident of Dhanori, Katra, was intercepted during a special checking naka established at Kadmal, Katra when he was on way from Nomai side towards Katra.
Upon frisking, 6.28 grams of heroin like substance was recovered from his possession following which he was taken into custody.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 66/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and investigation has been initiated to unearth the backward and forward linkages involved in the illegal narcotics trade.
The entire operation was carried out by SHO Katra, Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the supervision of SDPO Katra, Dr Bhishm Dubey.
