UDHAMPUR, Feb 28: An alleged drug peddler was arrested with 9.09 grams of heroin from Tikri area here today.
During naka checking at Tikri, a team of Police Post Tikri noticed a suspicious person, who attempted to flee on seeing the police, a police official said.
He was, however, chased and arrested by the alert cops, he said.
On search of the suspect, later identified as Surjeet Singh of Kakryal, tehsil Katra, district Reasi, 9.09 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered, the police official said.
According to him, the accused individual was accordingly arrested and booked in case FIR number 40/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act and further investigation taken up.
