UDHAMPUR, Jan 5: Police arrested a drug peddler at Bansa Morh, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Rehambal and recovered 5.23 grams of heroin from his possession.
During routine checking at Bansa Morh, Police noticed a suspicious individual moving on foot from Katra side towards Tikri. On spotting the naka, the person attempted to retreat but was swiftly apprehended by the Police party.
Upon questioning, the individual disclosed his identity as Mohd Arif alias Jugnu, son of Mohd Gulsher of Dhanori, Udhampur. During his personal search, 5.23 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession following which he was arrested.
Accordingly, FIR No. 04/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal.
