RAJOURI, Sept 13: Police apprehended a drug peddler with 8 grams of heroin-like narcotic substance in the Lamberi area of Nowshera.
A police party under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera, Deputy SP Sahil Mahajan and led by SHO Police Station Nowshera, Inspector Arjun Mangotra, while on naka duty at Lamberi, noticed a person moving on foot from Siot towards Lamberi. On spotting the naka party, the suspect attempted to flee but was swiftly apprehended by the alert police personnel.
On questioning, the apprehended man was identified as Mohd Rafi, son of Mohd Sharif, resident of Ward Number 2, Madina Colony, Rajouri. During his personal search, 8 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.
In this regard, a case FIR Number 128/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nowshera. Further investigation is underway to trace his possible links with a wider drug network.
