POONCH, June 23: Police here today arrested a drug peddler and recovered heroin like substance from him.
During routine patrolling, cops from Police Station Poonch observed suspicious behaviour by an individual who attempted to flee on seeing the cops but was caught by the Police.
The individual was identified as Tariq Ahmed Qureshi, son of Abdul Aziz, resident of Ward No. 3, Gursai. Upon his personal search cops recovered 4.29 grams of heroin-like substance. In this connection, a case in FIR No. 111/2025 has been registered at Police Station Poonch under relevant Sections 8/21/22 of NDPS Act.
The accused was arrested and investigation in the case was underway.
