KISHTWAR, Jan 6: Police here today arrested a drug peddler and recovered 211 grams of Charas like narcotic substance from him during a routine patrolling in Malipeth–Bus Stand area.
Sharing details in this regard, SSP Kishtwar, Naresh Singh said that cops from Police Station Kishtwar, headed by SHO Kishtwar, Inspector Firdous Ahmed and assisted by PSI Arush Sharma, during a routine patrolling at Malipeth, Bus Stand area under the supervision of Additional SP Kishtwar, Pardeep Singh Goria and Dy. SP Hqrs Kishtwar, Dr. Ishan Gupta, noticed an individual moving suspiciously.
Acting promptly, cops apprehended him and on his personal search, 211 gram of Charas like substance was recovered and he was arrested on the spot.
The accused disclosed his identity as Mohd Rajab, son of Mohd Anwar Naik, resident of Sarawan, Keshwan. Accordingly, an FIR with No. 05/2026 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started.
