JAMMU, Feb 6: Police in RS Pura area here claimed they have arrested a drug peddler and recovered huge quantity of banned tablets and Rs 11.60 lakh in cash from his possession.
During routine patrolling duty at naka Kotli Gala Bana near Brick-Kiln on February 5, 2026, a Mahindra KUV (JK02BM-6680) was stopped for checking by a team of Police Station RS Pura, led by PSI Naresh Kumar, under the supervision of SHO concern, Inspector RS Parihar and SP Headquarters, I H Rather, a police official said.
On search of the vehicle, he said, a huge quantity of banned capsules along with Rs 11.60 lakh cash was recovered from the co-driver of the vehicle, identified as Shiva Gupta of Ward number 1, RS Pura.
Accordingly, he was arrested and booked in case FIR number 32/2026 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation taken up, the police official said, adding that the vehicle used in the crime has also been seized.
