Drug peddler held with 11 gm heroin

JAMMU, Dec 18: Police in Jammu’s Bakshi Nagar area today claimed that they have arrested a chronic drug peddler with 11 grams of heroin-like-substance.
During routine patrolling duty near Shiv Mandir, Old Gurha, Bakshi Nagar, a party of Police Station Bakshi Nagar noticed a suspicious individual, who attempted to flee on seeing the police, a police official said.
He was, however, overpowered by the alert police personnel and put to search, he said, adding that 11 grams of heroin-like-substance was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, the suspected individual, later identified as Narinder Sharma alias Lovesh Khajuria of House Number 132, Old Gurha, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu, was arrested and booked in case FIR number 159/2025 under sections 8(a)/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and further investigation taken up.
