RAJOURI, Jan 30: The police arrested a drug-peddler and recovered some quanity of charas and cash from his possession in Rajouri area today.
Official sources said that a Police team from Rajouri led by SHO Abid Hussain Shah during Naka at Salani Bridge, Rajouri intercepted a vehicle Hyundai i-20, bearing registration No. JK11H/3459.
On questioning the driver of the said vehicle disclosed his identity as Rajan Kumar, son of Kashmir Singh , resident of Saranoo, Tehsil and District Rajouri.
Further on checking, police recovered 10 grams of charas and cash Rs 77,510 from his possession.
A case FIR No. 51/2026 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station, Rajouri.
Further investigation is underway to trace the forward and backward linkages of the arrested person, the official said.
