JAMMU, Dec 17: Katra police today arrested a drug peddler and recovered 700 intoxicant tablets from his possession.
SP Katra Naresh Singh identified the arrested drug-peddler has been identified as Rakesh Kumar son of Bal Krishan resident of Kadmal, Katra.
He had brought the consignment of intoxicants to holy town of Katra for selling it among some youths but police nabbed him before he could succeed in his designs.
The SP Katra said drive against the drug-peddlers has been intensified in Katra town to ensure that no consignments fall into the hands of youth.
Police parties headed by SHO Katra Arvind Sambyal made the arrest and recovery.
